Dental implants are a common and effective treatment option for replacing missing teeth. They provide a stable and long-lasting solution for individuals who have lost teeth due to various reasons, such as decay, gum disease, trauma, or congenital issues. Here's an overview of the general process for dental implant treatment:

Consultation and Evaluation:
  • The first step is to schedule a consultation with a dentist or oral surgeon who specializes in dental implants.
  • During the consultation, your oral health will be assessed, and the dentist will determine if you are a suitable candidate for dental implants. Factors like bone density, gum health, and overall health are considered.
Treatment Planning:
  • If you are deemed a candidate for dental implants, a personalized treatment plan will be created. This plan outlines the number of implants needed, the location of the implants, and the timeline for the procedure.
Implant Placement:
  • The dental implant procedure is typically done in two stages:
    a. Implant Placement: A small titanium post (the implant) is surgically inserted into the jawbone. This post acts as a replacement for the tooth root.
    b. Healing Period: After implant placement, a healing period of several months is usually required. During this time, the implant fuses with the surrounding bone through a process called osseointegration.
